STIEFEL combustion systems replaced North American burners in an Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO) system for a listed company. The retrofit successfully reduced NOx emissions from 300-400mg/Nm³ to under 100mg/Nm³. This upgrade met stricter environmental standards and significantly lowered operational costs for the company.
The STIEFEL ThermJet (TJ) burner replacement led to substantial energy savings. Electricity use decreased by 16 kWh per hour by replacing 11kW fans with 3kW fans, saving approximately 422 RMB daily in electricity costs. Gas consumption also dropped by at least 10%, saving an estimated 864 RMB per day based on 7-8 cubic meters of gas saved per hour.
Beyond energy savings, STIEFEL TJ burners operate at a much lower temperature (20-30℃ above ambient) compared to the North American burners, improving temperature control precision to ±5℃ (versus ±50℃). Ignition reliability improved, and burner failure rates decreased. The entire investment is expected to be recovered in less than six months due to these combined savings.
